Amazing vintage 4 piece Lane & Co Van Nuys, California USA 1531 serving set. The set includes a Plate, a Laddle, a Tureen and the Top. A large white ironstone Lane & Co soup tureen with the matching lid, underplate and ladle, with an eagle and star motif. Please note the bowl was broken off its base and repaired /glued back on, it’s hardly noticeable unless looking underneath. There are some flaws from storage, use and age. There is some minor flea biting, small chips and mild discoloration. The eagle finial is crooked and it looks to be a manufacturing defect just inside the rim of the bowl. No cracks but it does have a crackle crazing, cracked, crack design in the glazing. This listing is for a white soup tureen. There may be some typical and expected minor manufacturing imperfections possibly including: glaze dimples or specks, white or brown specks, stilt marks, paint or color variations, or other factory original minor flaws.  It can hold roughly 64 ounces, or two quarts, of liquid. The plate, spoon/ladle, and bowl all have eagles birds on them. The bowl features a charming little eagle at the top. It is as elegant as it is charming! This is the perfect gift for any vintage lover. Lovely wavy scalloped design along the top edges. Would look amazing as a center piece on a table. It could be used as a round bowl tray holding things like candle sticks, flower vases and other objects.
